Ayurvedic Treatment Of Diabetes

As per ayurveda, diabetes is a metabolic kapha type of illness in which decreased working of agni causes a tendency in the direction of high blood glucose.

Ayurvedic practicians attack diabetes using a multiprong approach. Initially, they deal with dietetic change, annihilating sugar and simple carbohydrates, and emphasizing complex carbohydrates.

Protein is limited, since over consumption can harm the excretory organs. Fat is also limited as there is often a lack of pancreatic proteins, making fat digestion hard. Since many diabetes sufferers have autoantibodies, a cleansing program is set up. Panchakarma is generally utilized for this purpose. This starts with massages with herbal oils and an herbal steam sauna, accompanied by fasting to rinse out the body. This is followed by an herbal purge for the liver, exocrine gland, and spleen. Colon therapy is next, first to clean the digestive zone and then to restructure the overall system.

Ayurvedic practicians also make use of different herbal preparations for diabetes patients. Regular workout is another keystone of ayurvedic treatment of diabetes. Yogic exercises and breathing sessions are also used.
