Diabetes affects more and more people each year, and the increase seems to only continue. There is some consideration that diabetes is hereditary and that we may be born with a propensity for this illness. It is also known that the disease runs in families and females who have had gestational diabetes during maternity are in jeopardy too. Can we thwart or push back the beginning of diabetes? Here are some easy ways to permit you to avoid or delay diabetes.

- Limit your meat, poultry, and fish consumption to no more than three ounces everyday. Another healthy tip is to listen to music in place of watching television while you are taking food. - If you are eating at a fast-food restaurant, pick the healthier foods like grilled chicken, salads and fruits.

- Increase your daily workout program. Next to diet, workout is crucial to a healthy body especially for diabetes patients. If nothing else, try walking daily or swimming at a club. If possible, take the stairs as much as you can and avoid elevator.
